Welcome back to Revenant! This is year two here in scenic Brill. You'll meet these two scamps later. Lets get this party started!
Newly plantsimed-witchy founder Vermillion here is playing with her Nightshade sapling while pregnant with the Witch Boy, Taylor Riley's child.
She invites over Gypsy Lew to ask for some help in reversing one of these afflictions.
Gypsy Lew palms her a mysterious purple potion.
And only after this does it occur to me that Vermilion could have made her own poxy potions. -_-
Too late now, Vermillion throws back the bitter concoction.
But which of her afflictions will this cure? She didnt ask.
Days later Vermillion returns to human-ish form. She's still a which, but now chloroform isn't pulsing through her body and her skin has turned a healthy peach.
Mere moments before she goes into labor.
Witch Boy's child is a beautiful baby girl. Good thing, too, seeing as this is a matriarchy.
Vermillion names the child Bistre. Obscure names of colours for the win, boys and girls.
This may seem cheatsy that Nightshade achieved all his charisma before he became an adult plantsim seeing as plantsims recieve the same amount of skill points as their creators. But Vermillion only had one Charisma point. The only one she needed for college. So I wouldn't call it that cheatsy. He does have skill points in every other field though. So yes. That part is cheatsy. :D
From there Vermillion buys him a shape box toy and he learns his predestined hobby is Science. Science! I'm glad you aren't just a genderbent husk of your mother, Nightshade.
To celebrate finally being unpregnant, Vermillions invites Sinjin Coudric over and lays theromance on pretty thick. Forgetting that it's Joe Carr that's her boyfriend and not Sinjin.
All she does remember is that she noted Sinjin's healthy, non-magical genes and she wanted to make use of them. Which lead to this.
After his mother's romantic escapades, Nightshade was happy to recieve some of Vermillions attention. He could fend for himself easily enough these days, but he did sort of love his mother.
Vermillion snuck into the secret compartments of her evil lair.
And began making diabolical uses for those apples in her orchard.
Diabolical.
Meanwhile, Nightshade topped logic. There dont seem to be any pictures of Vermillion taking care of Bistre.
But ther are pictures of her being sick.
Anyways, time for Vermillions annual Summer Solstice bash! Which is doubling as Nightshades birthday. Witch Boy here is invited and he takes a keen interest in his spawn right away.
Vermillions wonderful, powerful, a bit batty professors take to smustling in the lawn.
And Vermillion makes her guests a delicious apple pie.
But the festivities unsettled Vermillions delicate stomach.
But she saves face for the sake of her botanical spawn.
Happy Birthday, Nightshade.
And in a flush of soft green foliage, Nightshade becomes an adult simling.
Nightashade is happy that he's a little more independant now. But Vermillions session with the porcelain throne totally killed the mood of the party.
Boo! Bad party, Vermillion.
So everyone leaves and Nightshade has to eat his birthday cake all by himself.
Vermillion has other plans for her guests. Or at least some of them. Out of no where there appears some Wiccan binds to keep them on her property. There will be a couple that escap. Vermillion's prepared for that. She only needs one.
Nightshade hits up the classifieds.
And does his part to contribute to the Career Rewards: Medical, Science and Law Enforcement. Which is funny because his interest is in politics.
Later that evening Vermillion reviews her web of doom. Jayapalan the Odious escaped, but she can fly. Vermillion had no worries about her. And Solvieg escaped as well. Vemillion was proud of her former secret society sister.
But the horrors she had planned for the bound would have to wait a mo. Vermillion was again with child and she needed to switch into some maternity wear.
Somehow this looks less cool when magivestigium-ing.
Jim Pederson, you miserable wretch! I can't stand your pathetic sobbing!
You will be given yor freedom today. But remember that you are bound to me and when I summon you to my seasonal parties you will attend. Or you will face greater horrors than those that you faced today.
Gosh, she's so worthy of her position as criminal mastermind of the universe, isn't she?! Anyways, Jim Pederson abandons his brother, Blake Pederson, to whatever dasterdly plans Vermillions has for him.
While Nightshade, being scientifically ordained usues his skills to concoct a virs for his mothers victim.
Vermillion's been torturing Blake all morning.
Setting fires to his pig stye and magivesgium-ing out.
While exhaustion takes over and Blake is unable to escape the flames.
Passerbys are horror-stricken. Vermillion, criminal masterm ind of the universe is commiting these horrors in her front lawn, for the world to see. And no bod has the courage to stop her.
She and Nightshade are happily consorting in their home.
And share the memorable moment of Bistre's birthday.
The tot is given enchanted formulae to enhance the childs mental abilities.
And give her the greatest potential. Vermillion has plans even for her brood.
While Blake Pederson collapses from exhaustion for the last time. Nightshade is disappointed. He didn't get the chance to dose him with the virus. He'll have to find another ginea pig.
In the morning Nightshade invites over the Garden club. His mothers apple orchard and strawberry patch are in pique condition.
He proudly tends to them while the club asses his garden. They are impressed with his efforts and he's given a Garden club membership.
Afterward Vermillion strips the orchard and strawberry patch of their fruit. Her couldron is starting to lose volume.
After she unloads her quarr into her vat Vermillion goes into labor again.
A boy. How unfortunate. But she will care for him. His father might have just been genetic fodder, but Vermillion does feel a bond with her children. The child is named Omen. Not a color. Just an omen. :B
It took Vermillion some time to remember that it was in fact Joe Carr that was her boyfriend.
She invites him over to celebrate being unpregnate this time.
And while she grants him an afternoon with her in her bedroom, Bistre explores the wonderful world of block stacking.
Soon it's Autumn and Vermillion throws her Autumn Equinox party.
Since there are children in the house and Vermillion doesn't want her guests grubby mitts on her brood, the Autumn Equinox party is held outside.
Vermillion gives her daughter a tender embrace before joining her guests in the yard for some Autumn Salad.
The party is a moderate success. Vermillions guests escape without threat to their lives. Vermillion must be feeling merciful.
Nightshade is happy to have another boy in the house.
But Vermillion is unhappy. She feels to draw of death calling her forth. It's time for her to visit Undercity. A city of the Forsaken.
Which is just 'downtown' as it happens. Vermillion can fly there in a trice! And before she knows it-
She's gettin' down on the dance floor.
Vermillion's stomach can't handle that kind of dancing.
So she freestyles instead.
That lit class she took in college attributed to her hefty take-away.
Speaking of college, Vermillion has a serious case of deja vu. She isn't sure what she's waiting for, but she's certain she needs to be here. She just has to be patient.
Mrs. Crumplebottom can sense the child growing within Vermillion. Vermillion can sense Mrs. Crumplebottom is an evil to rival her own. They stay clear of each other... for now.
Vermillion has been waiting around for hours. She's flown all over Undercity, searching. But for what she has no idea.
Until she appears.
Contessa Bim Fong. This is who Vermillion has been waiting for.
But their meeting is cut short. The Lady of Red has an aversion to light.
Back home Vermillion is once again knocked up. And dons the maternity wear once again. Man, it's a good thing she doesn't throw them out.
Blake's ghost arises from his urn. He has a score to settle.
Nightshade is first to suffer the mans wrath.
Vermillion isn't sure where her friendship with Contessa Bim Fong is going to lead. She has a family to consider.
She has two children and another on the way.
Her children are growing fast.
She wants their futers to be bright.
For them to have happy lives.
Isn't this a new and strange sensation, she thinks.
Her third child is born. Another boy. Vermillion is considering that maybe non-magical genes aren't the route to go. Ochre is born. He's beautiful.
Bistre realizes that unless boolprop gets whack, she'll be the next matriarch of the Revenants. That's a heavy thing to consider as a child.
As beautiful as Ochre is Vermillion hands him over to Nightshade to look after. Vermillion has a guest to welcome.
Contessa Bim Fong.
Contessa knows what Vermillions after.
And in a moment of wanton passion, she grants Vermillions wishes.
As if it were possible, Vermillion becomes even more evil.
Contessa had no idea what she created.
Vermillion is grateful to the Countess. She'll remain in her favor for many years to come.
Vermillion will have to get used to not being able to see her reflection.
Contessa leaves Vermillion a momento of their night together.
Bistre partakes of her mothers apple pie. She doesn't realize its been enchanted.
Vermillion is set upon by the day.
And a new way to shield herself from the world.
Bistre begins the daily grind of 'attending school.' Surely if she's destined to carry on the family torch she shouldn't have to deal with these things.
But if she's destined to become anything like her mother, Bistre isn't sure if she wants to carry on the family legacy.
A field of flamingoes isn't the greatest legacy to behold.
Or haunted stairwells.
Being terrorized by her mothers victims.
Vermillion suspects her daughter of losing faith. These powers that she's accumulated over the years have to be of some use.
But she understands. Bistre's brothers don't share in this responsibility.
Even Nightshade was free. Even though he was born first. Bistre gave Nightshade a lot of consideration. He took care of Bistre, Omen and Ochre while thei mother was off dating vampires, torturing college students, dating witch boys. It didn't seem like he was getting much out of this.
But perhaps caring for his family was all the reward Nightshade needed. He understood that his purpose for existing was to assist his creator. He was his mother's Egor.
It was his responsibility to see to her childrens needs.
And while Vermillion took joy spending time with her children-
She didn't want her negative forces to interfere with their lives too much.
So Nightshade was happy that Vermillion created him. Because he knew she created him to be the positive force in their lives.
The seasons were changing. It was time for the Winter Solstice party.
The usual suspects arrived. After the Red Pi none of them had any choice.
Vermillion made an entrance to remember.
And it was time for Omen to grow up.
Vermillion needed another soul. Talin McAuley would suit her needs nicely.
This time her Inflammo spell succeeded.
Burning her kitchen was a slight loss.
Hello, Grim.
You just love pingponging me between neighborhoods, don't you?
None of that sass!
Vermillions guests were unable to do anything to save Talin. Well, except maybe Jayapalan the Odious, but I don't suspect she wanted to. Because she's Odious.
The death, however, put a dimmer on the winter solstice party.
Though, we did discover that Naenae has great chemistry with Nightshade. Huuhuu, the plot thickens.
Perhaps he'll pursue that avenue of interest when his hands aren't so full.
Bistre is happy to forget about her familial duties and lose herself in the fabulous world of castle building! Believe me, its addictive. I've been building on for my simself for days. >_>
Enough about your castle, miserable wretch. Get on with my chapter. It's taking forever!
Or face the consequences.
Oh! Gosh. Alright. Ochre grew up into a happy laughing child.
Nightshade had time to pursue his interest in science.
Blakes still bitter about dying.
Very bitter.
He scared every child.
But left Vermillion alone. Lol, so hey, remember those garden club boys who broke this toilet last year? She's just now uncloggin it.
Nightshade also topped Politics since he no longer has toddlers to watch over. It's amazing what you can accomplish when you're skill capped, dont sleep, and dont have to preform childcare.
Happy Birthday, Bistre. She's not looking so glum is she? Gosh, shes pretty.
Omen is getting along very well with the niegborhood children. Probably not appropes hugging in the bathroom, though.
Vermillion commissioned this small folly to house the urns of her tortured souls.
Time to visit those souls.
Their souls are dormant during the day. Normally Vermillion should be, too. But she won't stand for them going after her children.
She casts a spell to bind them to this folly.
Vermillion might be wicked, but she wont stand for anyone trying to frighten her children to death.
Their safety is everything now that Vermillion has achieved everything she's ever wanted.
She's arranged a meeting with the headmaster of Brills Private School.
She prepares for him enchanted bass. As soon as Headmaster Jitmakusol takes his first bite he's her play thing. Vermillion explains all these tactics to Bistre.
Headmaster Jitmakusol accepts Vermillions children into Private School against his will. He has no idea why he's doing this.
Vermillions souls are upset that they're bound to the folly. But her spell works.
After the meeting with the headmaster it's time for Spring Equinox party.
Jayapalan messes with her students.
Gah! Thanks for teaching Omen how to Smustle, Gypsy Lew! You big jerk! Now there will be even more smustling everwhere.
And now that Nightshade has free time he tries to chat up Naenae.
The guests tr to hide out in one of the bathrooms.
But they can't resist the apple pie.
Jayapalan the Odious and Gypsy Lew discuss Necromantic School Courses.
And eventually everyone eases up and enjoys themselves.
No one ever expects the pie.
Vermillion's bad party to good party ratio seems to even itself out.
And Nightshade ends up on good terms with Vermillions old school mate. Nyaw. That is a lot of development in one chapter! Holy crap. It's hard to believe that was all just one year! Alright, peace out, folks.
